About Us

The Lexington Racing Pigeon Club was formed in 1923 by a group of like-minded folk in Lexington who wanted to race pigeons. After a period of dormancy beginning in 1965, the club re-formed in 1971.

You must be an active member of the American Racing Pigeon Union which costs $25 per year for adults and $10 for juniors. You must be a club member in good standing to purchase club bands. Club bands are ordered a year in advance. For example, 2013 bands must be paid for before Jan. 31, 2012. If you need bands, you can generally find some at most pigeon supply houses like Foys or Siegles. Please remember that in order to race, you must have AU or IF designated bands.

For more information about the club, or if you have found a lost pigeon with a band on its leg, contact website administrator David Stephenson at david@davidstephenson.com or call him at (859) 321-4975.

If you are looking to purchase homing pigeons, feel free to contact us and we can refer you to any of our Central Kentucky club members who may have racing pigeons for sale. We do not provide pigeons to dog trainers.
