John James loft wins 1st in Midwest 1 Loft 150 mile race

Congratulations to John James, who had a bird – IF09LKY 9131H + BC -place FIRST in the Midwest One Loft 150-mile race on Sept. 20. There were 370 birds from all over the country in this race.

Originally, John’s bird was listed as finishing third and it arrived with another bird. The first place bird was since disqualified as it’s entry fee was not paid. The second and third placing birds, which dropped together, will share the first place money of $1500 according to John.

The Midwest One Loft website is here, and the link to the race results is here.

Decatur YB race, Sept. 27, 2009 (250 mi.)

Bob and John decided to clock their first four birds instead of the usual two-bird limit as they were the only two lofts ‘competing’. John reports that they had very good returns from the race and he had the first four birds in.

John reports that he and Bob were the only lofts to ship birds for Sunday’s race.

There is a race this Sunday.  We ship Saturday and release Sunday from 250 (Decatur, Ala).  Driver must leave the club by 6:30 PM to be in Louisville on time.
