Results: It was a very close race among the four lofts competing. Only 9 minutes separated the first birds at each loft. David Stephenson broke his maiden on this race with a blue-check cock given to him by Bob Zerkle as a fledgling last year to help get his loft started. Also notable is that John James earned his first diploma this race as well.
Update: 40-something birds were release Saturday morning at 6:30 from Oneida by Bob Zerkle. Clocks will be opened at 7 p.m. on Monday at Richard’s.
Shipping for the 100-mile race from Oneida, Tn. will be Friday night at 6 p.m. for the Saturday race. This race replaces the 500-mile race listed on the schedule. Most if not all of the club members did not feel that enough of their birds were ready for the 500-mile trip.
